Ignite briquettes are made from a blend of the finest charcoal in Southern Africa. Briquettes are considered the ‘all rounder’ in the market place - but not all briquettes are born equal.
After extensive research, testing and design, we have formulated the perfect combination of wood species for a long burn time, high heat and the important factor of an intact briquette arriving to a South Africans braai. Whilst we keep the secret blend under lock and key - we can guarantee that the wood from each ignite briquette is sourced ethically, responsibly and contains no artificial binders.

this is considered our black gold, with only 3-5% of our yield producing the large chunky pieces of charcoal. This charcoal produces an excellent flame and an intense high heat.
Most customers who enquire about this bag will be using a kamado braai, restaurants.

Charcoal
The unique landscape of northern Namibia fosters the growth of exceptionally dense wood. Our charcoal is sustainably sourced from invasive species and carefully screened to ensure larger, high-quality pieces. Due to the density of the wood, the larger, chunkier pieces of hardwood charcoal naturally have a lower yield. However, we meticulously select and screen these larger pieces to pack into our bags. While Namibian hardwood may not generate the intense heat of some other charcoals, it is renowned for its exceptionally long burn time.
